The proportions of Sawdust Bureau's debut bed were inspired by contemporary, low-slung Japanese style futons. It seemed only fair that the name tipped it's hat to a uniquely Japanese cultural phenomenon, the anti-siesta, aka the 'Inemuri'.

'Inemuri' refers to the positive acceptance of the burnt out worker bee, who cuts back on sleep at night and frowns on sleeping late in the morning, seemed to be accompanied by an extensive tolerance of so-called 'inemuri' – napping on public transportation and during work meetings, classes and lectures.

Perhaps it is time for us all to slow down and cut out the 'inemuri' in our lives.

The piece is available in King or Queen size and features solid Victorian Ash construction with optional luxurious leather-lining in the bedside lockers which have built-in cable management notches for bedside lamps and charging mobile devices.
